After more than ten years fine-tuning the art of family festivals, The Camp Bestival team is coming to Shropshire!
They are bringing their all-mod con camping festival to Weston Park this August 18 - 21, with an incredible line-up to match, including music headliners Fatboy Slim, Rag’n’Bone Man and Becky Hill alongside family fun acts such as Horrible Histories: Terrible Tudors and Brainiac Live: Remixed!
It's been specifically designed by parents with the family in mind. Pleasing thrill-seekers of all ages, festival go-ers can spend the day roaming the Dingly Dell and the vast Kids Gardens and chance upon enchanting discovery play and an abundance of amazing activities. With soft play, carboard castles, circus skills, drum workshops, dance classes, bushcraft, tree climbing, mud pies, science shows and swing boats, there are screen-free creative kids capers galore to fire up the imagination. Be entertained by story time, theatre shows, acrobatic spectaculars, and kids TV tearaways. Indulge in delicious festival fare from simple favourites and delicious drinks to incredible artisan street food and a lip-smacking medley of decadent dishes.
Looking for some family downtime? From ice baths to meditation and much more, Camp Bestival Shropshire has everything on site to guarantee a weekend of wellness and recuperation in amongst the festival excitement. Breathing expert and performance coach Stuart Sandeman, founder of Breathpod, will run self-empowering coaching and breath sessions throughout the weekend whilst legendary Jaime Amor of Cosmic Kids Yoga will host special sessions for little ones. Other wellness offerings include mindfulness sessions, meditation, fire ceremonies and boot camps. The inaugural Camp Bestival Shropshire will also host Wild Swimming and Paddleboarding in Weston Park’s iconic lake.
Everything is done and dusted by midnight and with camping options that range from the almost elemental to the truly opulent, thrill seekers can choose just how comfortable they want to be. From disco-lit big-name bands in the Big Top and scintillating showstopping headline acts on the main stage, to the shimmering beauty of the Dingly Dell, the brilliant Big Wheel and circus commotion in Caravanserai, a dazzling array of festival jewels come alive, and a new world of dusky twilight descends across our wonderland.
As if this wasn’t enough, amazing music across the weekend comes courtesy of Mae Muller, Sasha, Heather Small and 808 State also join the line-up whilst Britpop legends Shed Seven and Scouting For Girls will bring their pop-rock singalong sounds. The fun doesn’t stop there as DJs Gok Wan and the unstoppable force and Camp Bestival favourite, Jodie Harsh, will deliver glitteringly spectacular sets the whole family will remember for a lifetime. Renowned for his party bangers, Example returns to the Camp Bestival stage and kings of the feel-good hit, The Proclaimers will be sure to rouse crowds and Faithless (DJ Set) will be on hand with a very special DJ set led by the iconic Sister Bliss.
BBC Radio 2 DJ, Sara Cox, will also perform and spearhead a no-holds-barred fancy dress free-for-all on Fancy Dress Saturday. Circus Raj and The Grand Indian Art Bazaar also lands in Shropshire this year and will be home to elite street circus performers from this fascinating region's legendary entertainment communities, who combine their amazing skills in performing breath-taking acts of courage and bravery. The Feast Collective is a celebration of exceptional, artisan food producers from across the UK curated by the one and only Fred Sirieix. Camp Bestival has hunted down the best independent chefs, street vendors, and creative food makers, bringing them together to present the ultimate outdoor feasting experience at Camp Bestival.
