Former Chiquito's restaurant gets a new lease of life

Halls Commercial Property is delighted to announce that the former Chiquito site in Battlefield, Shrewsbury has been let to a family-owned, childcare group, Kids Planet. 

The prominently located site provides around 4,500 sq ft of accommodation with generous car parking provision and significant road frontage onto Battlefield Road. The property comprises of a detached single-storey building that encompasses a mainly open plan area. 

The new tenants Kids Planet is an award-winning nursery group with over 60 nurseries across the UK. Set up by CEO Clare Roberts in 2008 with her father, who had previously owned another nursery group, Kids Planet is now responsible for the care and education of over 8,500 children. 

Clare Roberts commented: “It has been really efficient working with James Evans, (Head of Commercial property at Halls) from start to finish, his client has shown to be a good fit for our company and a great introduction from James. We moved across to the site very quickly and are very much looking forward to welcoming families to our Kids Planet Shrewsbury nursery.” 

Following a complete refit of the premises, the new day nursery held its grand opening on Saturday 19th June. The single-storey nursery will open 7 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday from Monday 21st June 2021 and includes a sensory room, large wrap-around outdoor play areas including natural resources, complete with water play, steppingstones, sand area, dens, tunnel, and a mud kitchen.  Carefully thought-out age-specific rooms for 0–5-year-olds, offer children a place full of sensory richness and provide opportunities for children to explore, learn and discover.

The nursery was officially opened by Kids Planet CEO Clare Roberts and Shrewsbury Town Crier, Martin Wood.
