A musical fundraiser is back with a bang this month, aiming to hit a £15,000 target for the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.
Chords Crush Cancer was established in 2016 and promises to deliver a fabulous and fun evening of musical entertainment. Having been postponed due to the pandemic, it’s now returning for a sixth outing, and organisers have gone all out to raise money for Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.
Shrewsbury resident Mark Fielden established Chords Crush Cancer alongside his mum Margaret, who had been undergoing treatment for cancer at the Lingen Davies Cancer Centre. Sadly, Margaret passed away after the second event, though it has continued to raise funds in her honour.
The figure now stands at £10,500 raised, with the money being used to support cancer patients and their families living in the Shropshire and Mid-Wales.
CCC #6 is being held at the Inn on the Green in Radbrook, with music starting at 7pm, on Saturday 5th February. It’ll feature live music from Rhi Moore, Andy Mills and Davy Lewis, as well as a caricaturist and close-up magician.
There’ll also be a raffle and auction, with prizes including Camp Bestival weekend camping tickets, an Ooni Pizza Oven, a meal at Beefy Boys, Shrewsbury Prison entry, offers from Shrewsbury Town Football Club and much more.
Mark has said he and his family decided to continue fundraising for the Cancer Fund because of the care his mum received from staff at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
“Mum was involved with the first two events before she passed away, we all wanted to keep fundraising in her memory, and I’m so pleased with what we’ve achieved.
“Chords Crush Cancer brings together lots of great musical talent and so far we’ve raised £10,500 for Lingen Davies. We’re going all out this year to reach the £15,000 mark.”
