Early last year, when many of us hunkered down in our homes, one Shropshire lad took the opportunity to start his own small business painting pets, flowers, and houses. Twofold Design is now in its successful second year.
After being furloughed from his job at the start of the pandemic, 24 year old Sam Webb from Shrewsbury found himself with a sudden glut of free time. Given this, he decided to create his own watercolour paintings again, something he loved to do during his time at Belvidere Secondary School. "I wanted to combine my two favourite things - animals and nature - which I think we all gained a whole new appreciation for in lockdown".
What originally started as a hobby has now turned into a small business. Sam has since moved to Belgium, where he is studying his Masters of Architecture, and continues to create custom watercolours to help fund his studies. "I love painting people's pets. Most pet owners spent a lot of time at home with their furry friends over the past year, and I think in the process we grew even closer to them - which I didn't even know was possible!"
Sam is from Shrewsbury and works using both traditional watercolour and polychrome pencils to create custom artworks of your beloved pets.
