Get Doodling Too

  • To promote The Doodle Boy exhibition there are six 'doodle boards' in cafes and restaurants all over Shrewsbury for you to add your own doodles! Take a picture of yourself with the board, once you have added your own doodle, and share on social media for a chance to win some Doodle Boy merchandise.
  • Find them at The Soden Collection, The Shrewsbury Coffee House, Hopefully Made, Stop Cafe (Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery), Dough & Oil, St Mary's Church.

Every board has a doodle by Joe and each one is very different. It's good to do the rounds and see if you can find them all! Share a picture of your doodle on social media, or add it to your story - Tag @sodencollection and @thedoodleboy.co.uk and use the #doodleshrewsbury

There's a QR code too, which will take you through to more information about the exhibition.

The Official Doodle Boy (TM) Colouring Book is published this October by Dover Publications for ages 4-10. The doodles are all by 11-year-old Joe Whale, aka 'The Doodle Boy' who has become and international celebrity doodler, since pictures were first shared of him doodling on the walls at Number Four restaurant in Shrewsbury.

You can find out all about Joe at https://www.thedoodleboy.com/ or read our My Shrewsbury profile interview with him in the current issue of the magazine.

Joe also has another book coming out this September 28 (in USA) called Bad Food, Game of Scones written by Eric Luper with drawings by The Doodle Boy, published by Scholastic.
